Dr Tsz-shuen, Winnie, Wong (Chiropractor)

Owner and Founder of Capital Chiropractic Centre

Dr Winnie became a chiropractor because she understands firsthand what it is like to live with a spine that doesn’t function well. Growing up with scoliosis, she experienced the physical limitations and frustrations that spinal issues can create — and chiropractic care played an important role in helping her manage it.

Today, Dr Winnie is passionate about helping people move better, live with fewer limitations, and take control of their health. As the founder of Capital Chiropractic Centre, she has built a practice known for its supportive team culture, strong focus on patient education, and high standard of chiropractic care.

Beyond caring for patients, Dr Winnie is also passionate about mentoring chiropractors and supporting new graduates as they transition from university into practice.

Why I Became a Chiropractor

Growing up with scoliosis, I experienced what it was like to live in a body that didn’t always move or function the way it should. I understood the frustration of physical limitations and the uncertainty that can come with spinal issues.

During my teenage years, chiropractic care played an important role in helping me manage my spine and improve how my body functioned. That experience left a lasting impact on me.

It showed me how powerful it can be when the body is supported to move and function the way it was designed to.

That experience ultimately inspired my decision to become a chiropractor — so I could help others regain confidence in their bodies and live life with fewer limitations.

Even today, that same motivation continues to guide the way I care for every patient who walks through our doors.

Professional Journey

Originally from Hong Kong, Dr Winnie completed a Bachelor of Human Biology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong before moving to Australia to pursue chiropractic.

She graduated from Macquarie University in Sydney, where she also worked in a chiropractic practice as a Chiropractic Assistant during her studies. This early experience helped shape her understanding of patient care and the impact a well-run practice can have on a community.

After graduating, Dr Winnie began practicing as an associate chiropractor in Canberra. Wanting to broaden her experience, she spent time travelling across Australia as a locum chiropractor, working in many different practices and serving communities in underserved areas.

“Working in so many different practices and caring for people from all walks of life was incredibly formative. It helped shape not only the chiropractor I became, but also the kind of practice environment I wanted to create.”

Her commitment to service has also taken her internationally. Dr Winnie volunteered on a chiropractic mission trip to India with Hands On India, working alongside a small team of chiropractors providing care to people with limited access to healthcare.

Today, Dr Winnie is proud to call Canberra home and is the founder of Capital Chiropractic Centre.

Dr Winnie’s mission is to help people and chiropractors unlock their optimal potential so that together we can build healthier communities and contribute to a better world.

Our Philosophy of Care

Dr Winnie’s approach to patient care is built around four guiding principles:

EXCELLENCE

Providing high-quality chiropractic care that helps people move better, get out of pain, and return to doing the things they love.

EDUCATION

Helping patients understand their spine, their nervous system, and the everyday habits that support long-term health.

EMPOWERMENT

Supporting people to take ownership of their health and make choices that align with the life they want to live.

EXAMPLE

Dr Winnie practices what she teaches and recommends care to patients in the same thoughtful way she would for her own family — always beginning with understanding the individual and determining whether chiropractic care is the right fit.

Outside the Practice

Outside the practice, Dr Winnie enjoys staying active through running and cycling, often around the lake. She also enjoys continued learning, mentoring within the chiropractic profession, and investing in the growth of the team and community that surrounds Capital Chiropractic Centre.

Dr Winnie believes everyone deserves the opportunity to move well, feel well, and live life without unnecessary limitations — and she considers it a privilege to help people on that journey every day.
